Public Address / General Alarm Systems

ESS has been designing and installing Public Address and General Emergency Alarm systems for over 15 years.  From passenger ferries to off shore supply vessels, ESS has always used the latest technology to provide superior PA/GA systems.

ESS can design/install Public Address Systems which may be single zone or multi-zone to complement client needs.  If necessary, the PA system may also be integrated with a Loudhailer system or Talkback System.

Integration with the  General Emergency Alarm  requires specialized attention to design and system redundancy requirements.  All ESS systems  meet the guidelines of the USCG MTN: 03-95 and ABS rules. Please note that integrating the two systems is very cost effective as system wiring, system devices may be shared by both systems.

ESS specifies equipment and devices (speakers, strobes, beacons, etc.) that are UL listed and may be used in a marine environment.  ESS Pilot Control Panels feature  easy to use button panels as well as a  brass contact maker for General Alarm initiation.  In addition, ESS ensures that all General Alarm system requirements are met.

  • 46 CFR 113.25 (Sub-chapter J)
  • 46 CFR 120.550 & 121.602 (Sub-chapter K)
  • 46 CFR 183.550 & 184.602 (Sub-chapter T)
  • ABS Rules for Steel Vessels Part 4, Chap. 8, Sec. 2
  • ABS Rules for Steel Vessels under 90Meters Part 4, Chap. 6, Sec. 2
  • ABS Guide for Passenger Vessels Section 5, Sub-section 13
  • SOLAS Chap. II and III requirements.
